On November 18 2011 my beloved husband and father of our beautiful children aged 16,13 and 10 rang me and said I needed to come the hospital urgently. I cannot express how I felt when he told me that he had pancreatic cancer with multiple lesions in his liver. More than 5 years on the gratitude I have for the team at Canopy Cancer Care and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne is beyond words. They have given our family a future and we cherish the years we have been given together. It is this that motivates me to get on my bike and ride the length of the South Island to raise money to enable other patients and their families to have access to the treatment that Malcolm was fortunate enough to recieve. It is all about getting more precious time together.
Please support me in my goal to raise $10,000 to help Unicorn Foundation NZ in its mission to improve access to this life saving treatment which can make such a difference to many Kiwis with neuroendocrine cancer.
Many thanks for your kindness and support
Carrie
