Hello, I am Alex Toohey

Less than 12 months ago my family received the worst news possible. On the 26th of February 2018, my dad told my sister, mother and myself that he had just been diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer. Anytime you hear the word cancer, unfortunately, it is not very often that hope is the first thing you think of. My Dad, Paul Toohey a loved father, brother, partner and friend passed away less than 1 month ago. Dad fought hard with positivity and he remained positive no matter what hurdle was thrown at him. This year myself and my family have decided to take part in the Fiona Elsey Ballarat Cycle Classic in honour of Dad. This is obviously a fundraiser that is very close to our hearts and I myself have personally donated to the cause. I am not one to ask for money or donations but in this case, I am asking anyone who sees this post to donate even if it is just a dollar as every dollar counts.

We are riding this family adventure ride together as a family to try and raise some funds for cancer research. This is an area of great importance to our family as I lost my father to Caner on the 30th of December 2018. Cancer, unfortunately, is very prominent in today's society and no family should have to watch their family member experience this disease. Please feel free to donate even if it is as little as 1 dollar. Every dollar counts help us provide funds for cancer research so we may one day be able to say that there is a cure for all forms of this horrible disease
