Almost one New Zealander a day is diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Cancer. This is higher in number than brain, ovarian and cervical cancers. Neuroendocrine cancer can affect anyone, at any age and specialised treatment is not currently available in New Zealand. Patients have to travel overseas for treatment at considerable cost. The financial, physical and mental stress this places on patients who are already dealing with the challenge of fighting Neuroendocrine Cancer is immense. The Unicorn foundation is doing wonderful work to help bring this treatment to New Zealand and we can help them.
On 6th April 2019 I will begin a 630 km 7 day cycle ride through the South and North islands of New Zealand to raise awareness and funds for Unicorn Foundation which is a registered charity dedicated to revolutionising the way Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET Cancer) is diagnosed and managed in New Zealand. This won't be an easy ride for me but is nothing compared to the pain and suffering that Neuroendocrine Tumour patients are currently forced to go through on a daily basis.
I have a close friend who unfortunately passed away from this terrible disease recently and the Unicorn Foundation provided wonderful support for her as she courageously battled the disease. I also saw first-hand the added difficulties she faced having to travel to Melbourne for treatment on a frequent basis, so let's help bring this treatment to New Zealand!
Your donations will go towards providing support to patients, families and medical professionals involved in treatment for Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET Cancer) and to help the Unicorn Foundation NZ bring specialised treatment to New Zealand.
To donate please click on green Donate Now button. All donations will be eligible for a tax rebate. Every donation helps, no matter how small. Thank you very much for your generosity.
Kind regards
Ryan
