Kick it is all about encouraging every South Australian to kick a bad habit, or commence a positive new behaviour, to maximise their own health and potential.

Whether it's cutting back on alcohol for a month, committing to exercising regularly or making better diet choices, you choose the change and the length of time! The culmination of Kick it is a 2km walk starting in the South Terrace Parklands and finishing in Victoria Square on Sunday 1 November 2015 to celebrate what each person has achieved.

We encourage you to make a positive change while at the same time supporting scosa and South Australians living with disabiliies...and most of all, have FUN while doing it!

We have prepared a big list of ideas of what habits you can kick or positive new behaviours you can put into place. Click HERE for some great suggestions as to what you can do (applicable to adults and children).

Note: registration fees are not tax deductible.

We invite you to fundraise for scosa by asking people to sponsor you on your Kick it journey. Alternatively, you can also make a general donation to scosa or in support of someone you know who is participating - it's completely up to you!

Help us raise $50,000 to go towards the implementation of a new school to scosa transition program.

'Easing the transition from school to scosa' will support young people living with severe and complex disabilities across South Australia transitioning from schools to scosa's service Hubs. A transition program will enable scosa to gain a strong understanding of each person's abilities, non-verbal communication cues, unique health support needs, goals and aspirations. The program will also identify and address the significant challenges faced during the transition phase such as anxiety, challenging behaviours and missed opportunities to achieve their full potential.

Whether you raise a little or a lot, you can make a difference. Your fundraising efforts will contribute to this new and vital program for young South Australians living with disabilities.

Please click HERE to read Sam's story and to learn about the personal challenges she faced when transitioning from school to scosa.

By being involved in Kick it, scosa fundraises in two ways:

a) from your registration fee and

b) should you choose to do so, through your fundraising efforts by encouraging your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you.

There’s always time to celebrate! The grand finale of Kick it will be a 2.5 kilometre walk through the Adelaide CBD starting at 10.30am on Sunday 1 November, commencing at the South Terrace Parklands and finishing in Victoria Square where we will have lots of fun activities, healthy food and drink, entertainment, attractions and lots of free give-aways. It will be a fantastic family day out where we all come together and celebrate as a community our new positive lifestyle changes!

If you feel up to it, come dressed up to the walk in your best and brightest orange on Sunday 1 November. We will be awarding some fabulous prizes to the best dressed Kick it participants!

There is no obligation to dress up, we just want you to be comfortable and enjoy the day.

That’s ok! You can still register to kick your habit and raise money by asking your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you to kick that bad habit.

If you are participating as a school or workplace, you can even host your own fundraising event or walk on a day that suits you in your community or at your school, it's completely up to you! If you decide to host your own fundraising event, we would love to hear fom you.

Once you have registered, keep us informed of the fabulous changes you are making by uploding your pictures via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and use the hash tag #kickit4scosa. We would love to see what you are up to! The best photos will also be regularly shared on scosa’s social media pages so that as a community we can all keep up to date with each other's progress. Have some fun with it!

You can also keep up to date with the latest news and regular updates about the progress of Kick it by following scosa via our social media pages.

We encourage you to make all donations online, however if you receive a cash donation or cheque, we suggest you donate the money online by using your own credit card. This will be a much easier way to manage your donations and see instant results of your overall fundraising tally so that your family and friends can see where you are up to!

Credit card - Log in to your online fundraising page and pay the cash donation using your credit card. Not sure how the donor will get a receipt? Don't worry, you will have the option to enter the donor details when paying online and an automated receipt will be emailed directly to them...it's easy!

If you are unable to process the donation on your personal credit card, you have until 16 November 2015 to send in the money you’ve raised.

Cheque/cash - Download the following offline donation form HERE and fill out the donation details (don't forget to include the details of the donor so we can send them a receipt). Send your cash donation/cheque along with the completed form to:

                          scosa
                          Attn: Kick it Fundraising Team
                          PO Box 49
                          WOODVILLE SA 5011

We will then bank the money and add the donation to your overall fundraising tally within 5 business days (excluding postage time).

Please note: Everyone who makes a donation will be sent an automatic tax receipt via email (remember to make sure you record the details of the donor if you are accepting offline donations).

Register as an individual or get together as a team of friends, family, work colleagues, or even your school, and inspire each other to achieve great things! Register your participation by clicking on the ‘register now’ button at the very top or bottom of this page. We look forward to seeing you all at the grand finale on Sunday 1 November 2015!
