TOP WALKING TIPS
• Do not wear new shoes on the day. Buy and wear your shoes at least a month prior to the walk
• Carry a pair of socks and change them at the halfway point or at the first sign of a blister. Also if rain is predicted as dry feet help you avoid blisters
• Carry a few bandaids! We will have them available at the event, but it is better to have some on hand if you require them between rest stops
• Wear a hat or cap to protect you from the sun
• We supply snacks and water throughout the walk and a BBQ breakfast will be available at the end of the walk for a gold coin donation. But remember if you have any special dietary needs or like certain food, please carry some with you on the day, just in case you need a snack
• Carry a phone on you during the walk. We have an Emergency Services Team scattered throughout the walkers, but again it's better to be prepared for any situation that may arise.
• TRAIN! Remember to do plenty of walking prior to the event, especially if you are doing the entire 37kms
• If rain is predicted, carry a disposable waterproof jacket or brolly
• Remember to check the weather forecast and wear sensible clothes for the day
• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate - We will have water available so make sure you drink plenty of water!
