Together we can make a difference

 

Thank you to everyone involved in Walking Home 2017. We had over 400 walkers last year and we want to beat that number in 2018!

 

Walking Home coincides with Homelessness Week. It will also be the coldest time of the year and when most people are likely to be overcome by the elements. Together, we can raise awareness of the chronic issue of homelessness in the Barwon region whilst fundraising for the Salvos.

 

The total walk distance is 37km - but walkers can choose between four distances, depending on fitness level and time availability.

 

Whatever your distance, you will be walking alongside dedicated representatives of the many organisations who deliver services to homeless people and many other like-minded community folk. Thanks to our major sponsor Edge Clothing, our custom designed Walking Home tops are provided to all walkers no extra cost. If you want to wear extra layers to keep warm, consider getting a size up. These stylish tops will be available for pick up on the day of the walk at each registration checkpoint or you can collect them at 35 Myers St. Please check this page regularly for updates on the delivery date. You will also be able to purchase a custom Walking Home beanie for $15.

 

Water and snacks are provided throughout your walk thanks to the kind donation of Coles and Routleys Bakery. A BBQ will be available at the finish line for a gold coin donation.

Meeting Point: Queenscliff Station

Entry Fee: $60

We are offering a pickup service for our walkers from Geelong Station at 6:45AM with drop off at Queenscliff in time for the walk

Children under 12 can walk for a reduced registration fee of $20 with an accompanying adult.

Start time: 10:30AM

Meeting Point: Drysdale Station

Entry Fee: $50

We are offering a pickup service for our walkers from Geelong Station at 9:30AM with drop off at Drysdale in time for the walk

Children under 12 can walk for a reduced registration fee of $20 with an accompanying adult.

Start time: 11:30AM

Meeting Point: Corner of the Bellarine Rail Trail and Christies Road

Entry Fee: $40

We are offering a pickup service for our walkers from Geelong Station at 10:45AM with drop off at Leopold in time for the walk

Children under 12 can walk for a reduced registration fee of $20 with an accompanying adult.

Entry Fee: $30
