I am honoured to be selected by the National Heart Foundation to be one of their 20 ambassadors at the famous New York City Marathon for 2010. This amazing opportunity has landed at my feet because I have a great passion for hearts, cardiovascular research and running. I am a graduate medical student studying at the University of Melbourne, and currently I am completing a year of research in cardiovascular medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Through my medical studies and wonderful volunteer experiences I have been inspired to make a difference for people with heart disease. By running this marathon and raising money for the Heart Foundation I am taking another step towards that goal.
